Grilled Fried Chicken

Yayyy food food :D Today I'm bringing up an easyyy chicken recipe. If your a chicken lover like me then you'd for sure love this one. This is not only easy but sooo healthy as well. Who said diets cant be interesting.Try this and let me know. Some people will be on chicken diet (like me:D) i can have anything alongside chicken, let it be roti or rice. Boyy you could call me"The Chicken eating Girl" or "Girl eating Chicken"(that one dialogue from the movie little rascals omg love love that movie),anyway hoping that the chickens don't eat me any sooner *duh*!
Talking about chicken, some people think that eating chicken can make them gain weight..that's a total false.Chicken is packed with proteins that's good for body building. It's a lean meat excluding the skin. But personally i love it with skin. Recently I've been so much addicted to grill chicken..i cant stop thinking about them ahhh. So i thought y not..i might as well try something new and that led me to this yummilicious recipe. Plant based buddies first thing you wouldn't be here but still if u've been attracted by that sexy chicken leg...well people I'm sorry i just dunno how to grill a freaking green colored veiny leaf :( .
Alrightt not holding on letsss get starteddd...!

INGREDIENTS:
This is for half kg chicken. You can double the quantity for more.

  1. Chicken chopped into pieces (medium-big is preferred)
  2. For the paste,to apply on the chicken you'll be needing;
  • Few curry leaves (3 strands)
  • Few coriander leaves (3 strands)
  • Ginger garlic paste 2tsp (can adjust per liking i like it more garlicky so it's 2tsp)
  • 2 green chillis
  • 1tsp soya sauce
  • 1tsp Worcester sauce
  • A splash of non-fruit vinegar
  • One big size onion diced
  • Medium size tomato diced
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to each is own (i added 2 tsp of salt)
  • A pinch of arginomoto(i know it's not healthy but if u prefer you could else it's yummy as it is,it adds in a whole lot of taste)
METHOD:

  1. Wash, clean and keep the chicken aside.
  2.  For the paste add all the ingredients into the mixer and grind them until it turns into a paste like mixture. It should not be runny but kinda thick in consistency.
  3. Taste and see...if it needs any salt add to it.
  4. Set apart some of the mixture.
  5. Now take the cleaned chicken and smear the paste all over the chicken pieces, this point add 1 1/2 tsp of pepper. This will help the chicken hold onto the spices giving in some deep crunchy flavour.
  6. Let the chicken sit for about half hour or so..let the spices get mixed&get to know each other well. You can do it the night before and allow it to sit in the refrigerator. Once your ready to cook take it out and let it come to room temperature and then you can grill it.
  7. Incase if u need it to be more spicy, you can add in some chilli&coriander powder while marinating.
  8. Once your chicken is all marinated it's ready to hit the grill.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Keep the chicken in the grill and turn the temperature to about 250°c
  • Time: 25mins
  • I placed my chicken in the middle row(cooks evenly). Don't go for the 1st and last row (might get brunt quicky)
  • Keep checking in for every 10 mins. At this point that paste you had kept aside, take it in a silicon brush and brush the paste along with some Olive oil. This step is to keep the chicken moist and more flavored. While grilling the paste that was applied to the chicken tend to melt and fall of. So doing this step will help the chicken get all the flavor.
  • After 25mins try to prick a piece of chicken with a fork to see if it's completely cooked. If not set in for another 5mins it should do.
  • This is the final part. I wanted my chicken to have some crunch to it..*hands down* i love fried stuff. So, i wanted to take it a step further and make it all worth it. If you're someone like me then ur right up my alley babyy :D.
  • Take a non-stick pan add in some Olive oil keeping at low flame. Be sure not to over heat the pan cause olive oil gets burned quickly. Once the oil has reached the sizzling temp add in your grilled chicken pieces.
  • Note:since the chicken has already been cooked in the grill it dosen't need to cook anymore. All your looking for is the chicken to have a crunchy and roasted layer on top. If you don't prefer this step you can simply skip this and enjoy it after you've grilled it. It's tasty nonetheless.
  • This step should only take about 2mins on each side. Once the roasted layer has been formed remove it from the pan and set aside in some tissue paper just to remove excess oil.
  • Voilaaa your Grilled fried chicken is readyy. Olive oil is healthy so u don't have to even worry a bit. Eat well and enjoyy!
